lesson 15 - inherit vs noninherit special summons

It has been a while since we talked about inherit vs noninherit summons. For this you should know the basics of chains. If you do not know what a change is, then I would recommend you spend a small amount of time in lesson 1.

Inherit: An inherit special summon is a special summon that does not start a chain. This includes xyz, synchro, and most monster effects that special summon themselves such as geargiaaccelerator and cyber dragon.

noninherit: A noninherit special summon is a special summon through a card effect that starts a chain. This includes polymerization, tour guide, and wind-up shark.

Why go over this?

Some cards can only negate one type of summon. For example, black horn of heaven says "When your opponent would special summon a monster..." because it said " would special summon " and never said anything about a card effect. This means it stops inherit special summons.

I don't like that link because its off. Genex ally birdman is not an ignition because it does not start a chain. Also it says most effects that special themselves from the grave are ignition effects, but grapha is not, thus why shadow imprisoning mirror doesn't stop it.

Is it right for the most part though?
