Top 10 Decks of the Upcoming Format

Since there are such a ridiculous amount of lists out there for this I figured why not make one myself. I will be basing this after the new set comes out so it will have all of the new cards.

10. Cosmic Dragons

Cosmic Dragons, aka Yang Zing, are mostly on this list because I feel not too many people will be prepared for this matchup with the infinite floaters, beefed up already powerful synchros, and a boss monster that gives so many plusses that its not even fair. Plus they have Goyo now. Thought I should point that out.

9. Bujin

Bujins, along with almost every other deck, was not hit by the banlist. Bujins are a strong deck and will get more players once the mega tin comes out for them. Bujins have so much control, however due to many people's sheer hate for them a lot of people have an extreme side just for them.

8. Sylvans

Sylvans are a very powerful deck with a lot of combos up its sleeve. It has a lot of dirty tricks as well, such as stacking rank up magic the 7th one to the top of the deck. Despite this, there are not a lot of sylvan players. The majority of the reason being that they are very combo based, thus taking a lot of skill, and are also very pricey. Another flaw is it almost relies on Felgrand too much. However the deck is still very potent.

7. Geargia/Geargia Karakuri

Think Geargia are dead because gear is at one? Think again. Even with 3 gears in the deck, half the time the player didn't even have it all game. Gear down to 1 will not destroy the deck, merely make it less consistent and a little slower. It is still good for what it does.

6. Mythic Rulers

Mythic Rulers with soul charge can lead to a very devastating field that is almost impossible to topple over (except with number 80 ). They can go through so many cards in one turn without blinking a sweat and plus so much. Mythic Rulers are definitely a deck to fear once they activate that soul charge.

5. Mermail

Mermail honestly are not doing as well as other decks because of the lack of players for it. That also helps it because it catches many people off guard and often players don't have too much to side against them. But again, one side card without the appropriate MST or twister will demolish mermails without giving them a chance to fight back.

4. TellarKnights

Tellarknights are a consistent deck that can plus a lot. Altair into Deneb which searches an Altair to rinse and repeat is pluses galore. They have a lot of room for backrow as well. Between the several searches it has including the soon 2 RotA is remarkable for the consistency. Shamwow can also surprise you so watch out for that.

3. Lightsworn/Lightsworn Rulers

I do not think this deck can win as consistently as most of the decks above. Winning 8/9 is hard, but for a deck of this inconsistency there are bound to be problems. However the reason it is up so high is because of the sheer amount of players for the deck. It is relatively cheap to get and easy to play, so many people will sacking so be prepared for it if you aren't already.

2. All variants of Traptrifacts

I discussed in another topic as to why there are a lot more potent traptrifacts varients out there other than HAT. This is a very stun based deck that will use every card it has to utilize a plus one until you are against so many cards with so few that you don't have much of an option but to lose.

1. Shaddolls

I am sure this did not come as a shocker. This deck has so many ways it can play. It can play as a stun deck. It can play aggressively. No matter what it does, it plusses... a LOT. It plusses more than traptrifacts even. No matter what it does, whether its shaddoll fusion, foolish burial, mathmetician, or whatever else they use to send stuff to the graveyard it has plusses for days and it is nearly impossible to get around the amount of advantage it gets. However this is not the end all be all to the tier list. It is not a tier 0 deck by any means. It is just a powerful one that needs the appropriate side for. Don't think 3 shadow imprisoning mirrors will be enough though, because a good shaddoll player will side in twisters and MSTs every game 2/3 in preparation just like the inzektor players back in that format.


Some honorable mentions are Prophecy, Evilswarm, Madolche, Infernity, and Inzektors.

1. My nickname for Stellarknight Sham is Shamwow, because it sounds alike and the commercial is almost as annoying as StellarKnight Sham.

2. Mythic Rulers with 3 soul charge 2-3 Kuribandit has made a pretty powerful mark if you look at some of the tournaments after dragons of legend. I know Mythic Rulers took the first and second slot in the first ARG after dragons of legend.

As much as a I love Evols and am intrigued by Psychics I don't think Evols hit the top 10. I do believe it could hit the top 20 or 25 though.
